AN EVER-CHANGING TIME OF CHANGE HAS ARRIVED
AND HOMEOWNERS ASSOCIATIONS ACROSS THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA
ARE PREPARING FOR IT!
The information provided on this website by the “California Association
of Homeowners Associations, Inc.” is intended to assist “you”
in the management and administration of your Homeowners Association.
It is evident from the many phone calls received from disturbed homeowners
concerning the status of their Homeowners Association. Homeowners are
expressing concern with the direction of their association. Questions
are frequently expressed concerning the functions of the association’s
leadership, Board of Directors, and Management. With the number of homeowners
spending time at home, the functions of the leadership have been observed.
Functions that homeowners previously have taken for granted are now being
observed and scrutinized.
For example, it is interesting to know how so many homeowners have discovered
their association to be suspended by the State of California (a serious
matter). The financial strength (or lack thereof) of associations has
become a serious topic of discussion among homeowners. And, the election
of Boards of Directors under the new California Election Law has also
become a sincere concern.
It should be stated that community living can be enjoyable and satisfying
and is relative to the participation of the homeowners living there. With
the advent of sophisticated technology, which is advancing every day,
many homeowners are finding their associations are not being satisfactorily,
professionally, or formally managed. This is not to suggest that the Board
of Directors nor the Management Company is not doing a “respectable
job,” it is, however, to suggest that additional professionalism
and more formality is now being required.
The California Association of Homeowners Associations, Inc. is prepared
to assist homeowners and Boards of Directors in solving these and many
other concerns, to improve the conditions of their association. Our philosophy
has always been to serve, with distinction, Community Associations and
in so doing, contribute to the general welfare of the industry. When Community
Associations benefit, Homeowners will also benefit; it’s a good
philosophy.
